Tim Don’s SLT Eagles swooped in to take the inaugural SLT Teams title and with it a cheque for $120,000.

There was very left on the line in the race for top spot heading into the Championship Series finale in Malibu, with the SLT Eagles have been the dominant team throughout the four race season. However, they still rounded off strongly and also had personal glories too with Vittoria Lopes, Seth Rider and Jess Learmonth all collecting individual discipline.

The SLT Scorpions managed by Chris McCromack came in second with Georgia Taylor-Brown taking the overall Championship Series title.

They held off the SLT Sharks, who were unfancied by many heading into the Series but were guided on to the podium by manager Michelle Dillon.

It was then a race to avoid bottom spot.

The SLT Rhinos started poorly without star man Marten Van Riel in the first race of the Series in London and never really recovered.

They ended up propping up the rest with Annie Emmerson’s SLT Cheetahs in fourth place.

This year was the first Championship Series to feature the SLT Teams concept, which was loved by the athletes.

The SLT Eagles athletes pick up $15,000 a piece for their efforts, and even the SLT Rhinos collect $2,500 each as part of Super League’s commitment to grow the sport and ensure every athlete gets paid for competing.
