Beatrice Mallozzi is set for the biggest race of her life when she becomes the first Junior athlete to compete in a Super League final. The 19-year-old Italian, the Junior World Champion, took out the victory in the Junior Girls race at Super League Malta.
That earned her the chance to compete in the Semi-Finals of the Pro race and Mallozzi produced a superb display to finish sixth and make it into the final. Bianca Seregni, her Italian teammate, was eliminated via the 90 second rule but also made the cut for the Final.
A delighted Mallozzi said:
“It was very exciting and I am very happy to race in the Junior and the elite Semi-Final. The second race was very hard, also because I made a race completely alone. I had a problem this last lap with my brake because I crash on the bike and it was very hard to race very fast. “It was a fantastic experience. I had also words with Katie (Zaferes) and this was a pleasure to race with them. I am really looking forward to the Final.” Latest Articles MACCA’S PREDICTIONS: SCORPIONS TO STING AND SHARKS TO SWIM IN MALIBU › Stars Set To Collide As Super League Triathlon Heads To Malibu For Decisive Race › 5 THINGS WE LEARNED FROM TOULOUSE ›
