Nieschlag back to defend his title as triathlon stars assemble

Justus Nieschlag wins the SLT Arena Games for Super League Triathlon

Justus Nieschlag will be back to defend his title at the SLT Arena Games Powered by Zwift but faces some stiff competition in London.

That’s because the men who finished second and third at last year’s World Championships and one of the sport’s rising stars are among those today confirmed to be aiming to snatch his crown.

German star Nieschalg was a dark horse before the first SLT Arena Games event last year, but produced a consistent display to come through the field and take the inaugural title. Now he is confirmed to be returning for the SLT Arena Games Powered by Zwit in London on March 27.

Also announced today is Vasco Vilaca, who has burst onto the pro scene with a third place finish in last year’s SLT Arena Games and second at the ITU World Championships.

They will be taking on four Brits who had previously been announced including Jonny Brownlee and long course sensation George Goodwin.

Further additions to the women’s field will be announced on Thursday.
