2023 marks the 5th year of the Super League Triathlon Championship Series, and what better way to kick off this year’s landmark proceedings than in the iconic city of London.

Over the years, London has hosted more SLT Championship and Arena Games Triathlon Powered by Zwift events than any other city, so where better to kick off our 5th anniversary series.

Thousands of fans are expected to line the streets around West India Quay to get a glimpse of their heroes with a host of British triathlon icons, including Georgia Taylor – Brown, Alex Yee, Beth Potter and Jonny Brownlee all set for action.

A tight, technical course, including sections of cobblestones will prove a very tough opener for the athletes, who are sure to be feeling the nerves as the Championship Series gets underway.

The event will set the tone for the rest of the Championship Series, with a fast start essential for all those harbouring hopes of challenging for the podium come the end of October.

The route will follow the same course as the 2022 London Championship event, which saw Olympic medallist Cassandre Beaugrand and eventual series champion Hayden Wilde, taking the first victories of the 2022 season.

This is the second time that Super League has hosted an event in the UK this year, after the incredible Arena Games Triathlon London Powered by Zwift World Championship Finals, earlier this year.

Master of Endurance

The Enduro is considered the most brutal format of all. Requiring endurance and tactics, the Enduro is a non-stop burst of nine back-to-back triathlon disciplines without any breaks. The easiest way to think about it is swim-bike-run repeated continuously three times in a row, or over three Stages.

A focus on speed is a key demand of the Enduro because any athlete who falls more than 90 seconds behind the leader will be eliminated.

There are three Short Chutes up for grabs – for the first athlete across the Mount Line after the swim on Stage 1, for the first athlete across the Mount Line after the bike on Stage 1 and for the first athlete across the Mount Line at the end of Stage 1.Short Chutes are won for a Team and awarded to an athlete during the race by their Team Manager. Short Chutes are to be taken on the first lap of the run in Stage 3. No team can win more than one Short Chute.
