Super League Triathlon is back, bigger and better than ever in 2022. The Championship Series kicks off in style as the UK’s capital city, London, plays host to the best triathletes in the world.

Thousands of fans are expected to line the streets around West India Quay to get a glimpse of their heroes with a host of British gold medal winners such as Georgia Taylor-Brown and Jonny Brownlee set for action.

A tight, technical course with cobblestones is a very tough opener for the athletes who will be suffering with nerves as the Championship Series gets underway.

The event will set the tone for the rest of the Championship Series, with a fast start essential for all those harbouring hopes of challenging for the podium come the end of the month.

The course at West India Quay gets a big change from its 2021 debut with the start and finish now at the opposite end of the Quay and the circuit running in reverse.

This is the second time that Super League has hosted an event in the UK this year, after the incredible Arena Games Triathlon London Powered by Zwift, earlier this year.

Race Format

Triple Mix

Master of Versatility

Throwing the traditional swim-bike-run sequence out the window, the Triple Mix shuffles the disciplines over 3 Stages. It tests the versatility of the athletes and whether they can keep track of what comes next in the heat of battle.

Mistakes in this format are costly, and every second counts on Stage 1 and 2 as they define Stage 3’s pursuit start. At the end of each stage, athletes have a few minutes to reset themselves and their equipment. Stage 1 and Stage 2 are mass starts with the order of swim-bike run and run-bike-swim. The accumulated times across Stages 1 and 2 set the timings for a pursuit start in Stage 3, which is bike-swim-run.

Note: For the run section of Stage 3 in Toulouse, athletes will run 2 laps, where 1 lap will be run in stages 1 and 2.
