World Champ Iden Sets Sights on Super League

Gustav Iden is turning his focus to Super League after being crowned a World Champion.

The 24-year-old Norwegian, who has been handed a Wildcard into the new Super League Triathlon Championship Series, took a famous win at the Ironman 70.3 World Championships in Nice.

There were three Super League athletes in the top ten on the men’s side, with another Norwegian and Wildcard, Kristian Blummenfelt, finishing in fourth.

Last year’s seventh placed man in the Super League standings and Ranked Athlete for 2019, Ben Kanute, was tenth.

“It feels so amazing. I was joking on Instagram that I was just going to go out and go do it, but to be a World Champion – it’s unbelievable, and it’s amazing,” said Iden.

“To be World Champ right now is so amazing and now I’ll be focusing on the Olympics next year.”

Iden will next be in action at RBC Super League Triathlon Jersey 2019 on 28-29 September.
