Beth Potter and Jessica Learmonth look set for an almighty showdown at the Arena Games Triathlon powered by Zwift World Championship Series event in London after both cruised through their heats.

Potter, who won the first event of the Series in Munich, was again dominant at the London Aquatics Centre, even breaking the Arena Games Triathlon run record by setting a 3:05 for the 1km. Cassandre Beaugrand and Georgia Taylor-Brown were the other big names in the first heat and also cruised through, along with Audrey Merle of France as the four automatic qualifiers.

Heat 2 was all about Learmonth, the Rotterdam 2020 champion. She was totally dominant and had the luxury of being able to jog it home to qualify. Sian Rainsley, Zsanett Bragmayer and Kate Waugh were the other automatic qualifiers.

That left a nervous wait to find out who the two fastest losers were that would complete the line-up for the final. Those spots were split between the heats with Anabel Knoll, who was second in Munich, and Petra Kurikova, back in the fold after her DQ for spitting last time out, making the cut.
