Wildcard Reveal: Experience and Power In One Package

One of the sport’s biggest names will join the line-up for RBC Super League Triathlon Jersey 2019 with Norwegian superstar Kristian Blummenfelt today confirmed as a Wildcard.

Blummenfelt’s aggressive style of racing has made him a firm fan favourite in the sport and produced some thrilling results.

Also confirmed today is another star from British triathlon’s talent pool with 2016 Olympic Bronze medalist Vicky Holland joining fellow Brits Georgia Taylor-Brown and Sophie Coldwell in the women’s wildcard field.

Blummenfelt and Holland will battle it out with the rest of their rivals on 28-29 September as triathlon’s most exciting race Series kicks-off for a new season.

The line-ups consist of the top ten Ranked Athletes from last season, nine Qualifiers and a handful of Wildcards selected to ensure the most exciting racing possible.

Kristian Blummenfelt

One of triathlon’s most exciting stars, Norwegian powerhouse Blummenfelt brings his exhilarating racing style to Super League Triathlon. His never say die attitude and commitment to attack is perfect for the short formats, as witnessed by his thrilling third place finish in Super League Jersey last year.

Vicky Holland

Returning for another outing in Jersey, Vicky Holland brings double Olympic experience to Super League Triathlon after representing Team GB at London 2012 and Rio 2016. The 33-year-old secured her first senior ITU world title in 2018 after edging out current Super League women’s champions Katie Zaferes – will the battle continue on the SLT circuit in 2019? Watch out for Holland’s fast swim starts and blistering transition times that could help her improve on her overall seventh place finish at SLT Jersey in 2018.
