Taylor-Brown Wants to Make 2020 a Year to Remember

Georgia Taylor-Brown

Georgia Taylor-Brown is remaining focussed as she aims to make 2020 a year to remember.

The Super League star has the small matter of ensuring she makes the British team for the Tokyo Olympics on her mind before targeting medal glory.

Off the back of that Taylor-Brown hopes to take her form into the resumption of the 2019/20 Super League Championship Series where she has ground to make up after injury forced her to miss the events in Jersey and Malta last year.

She said:

It could be a very big year.
I am trying to stay focussed and I know what I want to do and what I need to do and I’ve got a few little things I have to focus on to get there.
I am definitely excited to be there and it’s going to be interesting with the ITU calendar, the Olympics and then the Super League calendar to finish the year off. I am excited to get going now.
Going to Tokyo would be amazing and I would go there and race the best I possibly can and I think that will give me more excitement to continue racing for the rest of the year.
I get really excited about Super League. I don’t get too nervous. It’s a great week where we get to experience so much that we wouldn’t usually get to experience and the racing is incredible.
I love the change of format and that they can change the rules whenever they want and we are on the edge of our seats not knowing what’s going to happen.
I love that they can change it whenever they want and there is so much going on.

This year is set to be a memorable one in short course triathlon with the conclusion of the four year Olympic cycle with the Games in Tokyo and Super League ramping up for a new and exciting campaign.

Having listened to the athletes to ensure they have the space to focus on their Olympic aspirations, the Super League stars are now fully focussed on delivering in Tokyo.

Taylor-Brown said:

I have always dreamed of going to the Olympics since being in sport since the age of five. I have always loved sport and chose triathlon and since I started I knew I wanted to go to the Olympics and the Commonwealth Games.
This year might be my year to make that dream come true.
I just focus on one thing at a time and if I don’t go then I don’t go and that’s how it is but it is a dream of mine and I will stay focussed and work my hardest to go there.
I am really excited about this year and if I get to the Olympics it will be incredible but I just have to do what I can do.
