RBC Super League Jersey: World Champions Collide

One of the sport’s greats will race RBC Super League Triathlon Jersey 2019 with three-time World Champion Mario Mola having been handed a Wildcard. The 29-year-old Spaniard is the world’s number one ranked male athlete and lifted the WTS title in 2016, 2017 and 2018.

Mola is a superstar addition to the line-up for the event on 28-29 September which will see the best triathletes in the world battle it out over a thrilling weekend of racing.

Super League CEO, Michael D’hulst, said:

We are delighted that Mario Mola has agreed to race as a Wildcard in RBC Super League Triathlon Jersey 2019. He is a top-quality athlete who has been at the pinnacle of men’s triathlon for many years and there is no doubt he will add a lot of excitement to the event. We have a stellar field ready to do battle over Super League’s exciting and unique race formats and we are expecting to see some real fireworks.

Mola, a two-time Olympian, became Spain’s first Junior World Champion in 2009 and just a year later was making waves in the senior ranks.

Since then he has become known as one of the most consistent and well-liked athletes on the circuit, with a killer run which has helped him to great success.

Though he was unable to defend his WTS crown for a fourth year running in 2019 it is a mark of his incredible consistency that he still finished second to Vincent Luis, the in-form Super League champion.

The match-up between the pair is a mouth-watering subplot to be played out in Jersey.
