There was barely anything to choose between the times of the top three riders in the final race of the Super League Triathlon eSports Cycling Series – but they recorded very different power numbers.
James Cunnama took the win with an average power of 378 watts and a normalised of 398 watts at 4.8 watts per kg and a low average heart rate of 152bpm.
Gordon Benson, who finished narrowly behind him in second, posted some mind blowing stats with an average power of 422 watts and a normalised of a staggering 453 watts. He rode at 5.3 watts per kg and 179bpm.
Third placed Jeremy Briand’s average heart rate was even higher at 181bpm but his average power was 361 watts with a normalised of 331 watts at 5.1 watts per kg.
