Super League Ottawa: Top 5 Must Knows For The Weekend

Super League Triathlon returns to Canada for what promises to be an unforgettable weekend offering truly unique experiences, Age Group races and the Pros gunning for one of the last remaining slots for the 2019 Championship Series.

It is going to be an action-packed weekend over August 3-4 as Canada’s capital city provides the stunning backdrop for some scintillating triathlon action.

In true Super League style there is something for everyone.

Here is what to look out for in Ottawa:

  • Last chance saloon
This is it for the Pros. Make or break. There are just six qualification spaces left for Super League’s 2019 Championship Series, which kicks-off in Jersey on 28-29 September. Just three men and three women will grab their Golden Tickets via two days of thrilling racing, which will involve the Enduro and Eliminator formats.
It’s going to be fast, furious and tense.
  • AG stars
Super League is nothing without our Age Group athletes, and they have their time in the spotlight on Sunday.
Entries are still open with formats to suit all levels of ability and experience from Sprint to Sprint Enduro through to the famous Enduro, and even relay options to take part in a team. It’s a chance to race the same course as the Pros, have a life changing experience and be cheered over the finishing line.
  • Youth to flourish
The best young local talent in the region will be given an opportunity as Super League Triathlon delivers races for the boys and girls on the same course as the Pros and the chance to race Eliminator and Enduro formats. There are sure to be some Super League stars of the future on display.
  • Rideau Canal
One of Canada’s most iconic stretches of water, the UNESCO World Heritage Site is normally off limits to swimmers – but not when Super League comes to town. All athletes will get the chance to swim in this most unique location with independent testing continuing to show a water quality level far above the strict minimum ITU standards.
  • Something for the family
Super League is all about creating an inclusive and family-friendly atmosphere. You can come along just to enjoy a day watching the Pros or, even better, race yourself and then chill out and bask in your achievement alongside your loved ones while seeing the best in the business battle it out. Our Fan Zone will include a wide range of food and drink options, entertainment, and a course designed so you can get closer to the action than you might believe.
