Super League Ottawa: Join Us For Our Next Race!

Ottawa was alive with excitement over the weekend as hundreds of Age Group triathletes descended upon the iconic Canadian capital for a weekend of swim-bike-run-fun.

With near perfect sunny conditions against the famous backdrop of the Rideau Canal, there were medals glinting in every direction as happy (and exhausted!) triathletes soaked up the atmosphere of a memorable weekend of racing.

We had it all – bouncy castles, outdoor yoga sessions, and dogs, children, friends and family members cheering on from the side-lines; everyone was getting a piece of that magic finish line feeling.

Aside from watching world class Pros race excruciatingly tough formats, Age Groupers came out in force to test themselves in the different categories of the Enduro, Sprint, and Relay races. The Youth & Junior races showed everyone else how it was done with some stellar grass roots performances – there’s definitely some future Pros in the mix there!

Unlike any other opportunity to race the Enduro format of a double swim-bike-run (in straight succession), Super League Triathlon Ottawa was a hit with Age Groupers and Pros alike.

Mathilde Bernard:

It was awesome, so well organised and I was so excited to be racing this morning. I will definitely come back next year!

Malcolm Good:

“It was awesome, that second triathlon just made it all that much more fun.”

Nathan Nicholls:

“I’ve never practised a T3 before and that was the last time! No, seriously, it was such good fun I’m coming back next year.”

Tim Ford:

“On paper it looks pretty easy but then you jump back in the water for the second time and you think, why am I doing this – this is horrific! But then you finish and it feels amazing – it’s unlike any other triathlon out there!”

Impressive performances across the individual and relay teams for both the Sprint and Enduro formats was certainly a source of inspiration for the hundreds of spectators which gathered in the Lansdowne area to witness these fitness freaks swim, bike and run themselves to finish line glory.
