Who To Watch Out For!

Some athletes from last years series are returning to try to gain access to the next season, but we also have a raft of new names challenging them for a slot. Triathlon comes down to strengths and weaknesses, you have to hope your strengths can outweigh your shortcomings and don’t leave you exposed!

Tommy Zaferes (USA) vs Aurélien Raphaël (FRA)

Tommy Zaferes raced in the previous SLT series, he’s a strong swimmer, but he’ll have his work cut out to match the challenge of someone like Aurélien Raphaël. Under their national structure, the French have this style of racing dialled in better than any other nation. Aurélien is a young talent bred from this high-performance programme and will be right up at the front. Can the American do enough in the water to hold off the challenge of the fast-moving French athlete?

“Tommy has been a part of the SLT journey since it started. A massive swimmer, with huge bike strength and a solid run. I think he has the race wits and experience to put himself back in the series” Chris McCormack

Danielle De Francesco (AUS) vs Felicity Sheedy-Ryan (AUS)

Danielle De Francesco is looking to back up her past seasons racing in SLT with an instant ticket back into the series for 2019/20. Danielle is a powerful swimmer, often leading the field out of the water, but can fade in the following disciplines. Felicity Sheedy-Ryan could prove the perfect counter to Danielle’s strengths as she executes an incredible run, the race will be on between these two!

“Felicity is the stand out talent in this women’s field and one of the most devastating and experienced triathletes on the planet. A world duathlon champion she has lethal run speed and this type of racing will truly suit her style” Chris McCormack

A Festival Of Sport and Entertainment!

Our Super League Fan Zone will open early on both days providing gourmet food and refreshment throughout the day and an atmosphere that will be unlike anything you have experienced before.

Local established bands and up and coming acts will light up your weekend with a wealth of entertainment! On Saturday evening we have a live performance by Diana Rosa with the Comrades followed up by DJ Rick Simora!

Once the racing is complete, the Sunday will be the scene of the after-party at Ayodya Beach Front with live acts, food, and space to unwind. The evening will be rounded off by a fantastic fireworks display!

With the race weekend coming up fast this is your last chance to sign up to be part of the SLT experience. Come and join us, create memories that will last forever, and take your triathlon journey one step further. You may well bear witness to the next SLT champion taking their first step toward their crown!
