Malta'19 ○ season'19
The superstars of Super League have inspired the next generation of athletes thanks to an extensive community outreach programme around this year’s race in Malta.
Some of the best triathletes in the world dropped into primary schools, secondary schools, local track sessions, tri club training camps and enjoyed trips showing off the beauty of Malta.
It was a whirlwind of action as Super League continued to drive forward its ambition to help the communities that host its events and promote a healthy and active lifestyle as well as showcasing the beauty of the locations to a global audience.
One of the key targets of the community engagement is children and to promote to youngsters the benefits of exercise.
Summer Rappaport, Aaron Royle and Marten Van Riel visited Santa Margerita College Secondary School to take part in activities with 13-15-years-old, who are among less than 20 per cent of the intake who have chosen to study sport.
All three made a huge impact on the playground with shuttle runs and Van Riel and Royle getting very competitive in a game of Dodgeball.
