Hayden Wilde took the opportunity to add to his busy training schedule on Tuesday and fly around some of Malta’s iconic locations.
The New Zealand athlete, who came third during the season curtain raiser at Jersey in September, is back to impress in the Mediterranean this weekend.
The 22-year-old who picked up the nickname ‘The Maltese Falcon’ last year visited St Agatha’s Tower – known as The Red Tower – for some cycling.
Wilde next headed around the north coast of the island to have a swim in the crystal clear water of Anchor Bay next to the backdrop of Popeye Village – the film set of the 1980 production.
Hayden next headed to the capital, Valletta to see the cannon fire of the Saluting Battery overlooking the waterfront before ending the day with some run training around the historic back streets.
The Falcon will be back to impress this weekend where he will look to retain the duel ownership of the red and green jersey’s with the Kiwi in the running ‘red’ on the startline this Saturday. Get a reminder for the livestream this weekend here!
