Men’s Heats: Alex Yee Breaks Men’s Run Record As Aurelien Raphael Misses Final

Alex Yee set a new Arena Games Triathlon powered by Zwift run record as he stormed through his heat at the London Aquatics Centre.

The British Olympic gold and silver medallist dropped a massive 2:34 split for the 1km in Stage 1, and went on to dominate his heat.

Justus Nieschlag, the Arena Games 2020 champion, came in second while Maxime Huber-Moosbrugger and Jeremy Briand also finished as automatic qualifiers.

Max Stapley, who finished third last time out in Munich, took out the second heat with Nicolo Strada second and Takumi Hojo third. Gordon Benson rounded out the top four automatic qualifiers.

But a technical error for Munich champion Aurelien Raphael and a slightly tired performance saw him miss out of the finals.

The two fastest losers positions went to Simon Henseleit and Harry Leleu, who both raced in heat 1.
