Two of Germany’s most promising young triathletes have won the chance to compete against the best in the world at RBC Super League Triathlon Jersey 2019.

Super League has again proved its commitment to developing and promoting young talent by offering slots in today’s Professional Semi-Finals to the winners of the Junior races.

It was a German double on the top of the podium as Selina Klamt fought her way to victory in the girl’s field while Simon Henseleit took out the boy’s race.

Both of the Champions accepted their slots and have been placed in Group B of today’s men’s and women’s Semi-Finals.

That means Klamt will be up against the like of Summer Rappaport and Rachel Klamer while Henseleit will race against the legendary Jonathan Brownlee, Hayden Wilde, Gustav Iden and fellow German Jonas Schomburg.

The air and water temperature this morning meant that both races had to be altered to become a swim-bike-run-bike-run with the second swim having to be dropped.

Klamt was in a battle with Emma Lombardi but when the French athlete crashed on the first lap of the second bike the German seized her chance and ran home to victory with Lombardi having to settle for second. Great Britain’s Sophie Green rounded off the podium.

In the boy’s race, Henseleit was a dominant force throughout but made a decisive move on the second bike leg which helped him to a six second victory over France’s Guillaume Hay. Denmark’s Oscar Rundqvist Gladney came in third.

Great Britain’s Beth Cook took the victory in the youth girl’s division with Noemie Beaulieu (Canada) just pipping Marie Wattiez (France) to second in a thrilling finish.

In the youth boy’s category, Portugal’s Alexandre Montez produced a dominating display to take the victory. Great britain’s Joe Martin took second with Belgian athlete Antoine Vendebroek third.
