Super League Triathlon will issue a final update on whether we are able to proceed with our revised course plan for Sunday’s Age Group, Age Group Sprint and GO TRI events at 6am tomorrow.
Super League has been taking expert meteorological advice with poor weather forecast and will make a final decision on whether racing can take place in the morning. It is hoped that conditions will allow the swim-run previously communicated to take place. In this instance, Super League is asking that athletes bring wetsuits with them.
Super League has worked tirelessly with relevant authorities and stakeholders to ensure the safety of all participants in the forecast weather conditions and to provide the best experience possible. If the event can go ahead Super League have use of the marina to allow competitors the chance to swim the same 300m course as the Pros, which is a truly once in a lifetime opportunity. The races will then go on to a run, which will take place on a 2.5km course. Competitors have the choice of whether to complete one or two loops of the run.
Age Group prizes will be awarded for both those completing the one loop course and those completing two loops. Relay teams are welcome to still participate as a pair, or all three team members can take part as individuals if they wish. Any participant who wants to complete just one 2.5km lap is free to do so.
If the race can proceed then please note that the meeting point has been relocated to the Fanzone at 7.30am on Sunday. This is the time for all athletes who were due not compete in the Age Group Enduro, Age Group Sprint or GO TRI events.
Super League is not anticipating any changes to the Championship races.
