Corporate Team Enduro: Meet The Teams!

It’s the team bonding experience like no other.

The Corporate Team Enduro, in partnership with Mourant, is one of the highlights of a bumper weekend of racing at RBC Super League Triathlon Jersey 2019.

Businesses from across the Island have seen staff come together to produce teams to take on Super League’s thrilling formats on the same course as the Pros. It promises to be a terrific spectacle and an unforgettable experience for all those involved.

So, we asked the teams themselves to give us a quick introduction. Here’s what they had to say…

Team Name: Mourant Mix 1

Why have you picked that as your team name? Mourant Mixed Team, and number one because they are our top team with a very strong swimmer, cyclist and runner
Which team member will be doing the swim leg(s)? Ellie Mulligan
Which team member will be doing the bike leg(s)? Jon Woolrich
Which team member will be doing the run leg(s)? Alex Skudder
Who have you nominated as team captain and why? Jon Woolrich – a very experienced and highly respected cyclist
Which Super League Triathlon athletes do you most admire and why? Richard Murray because he’s a dedicated athlete
What are you most excited for during the race weekend? The challenging course
What is your team goal? To win

Team Name: Mourant Mix 2

Why have you picked that as your team name? Mourant mixed team and the second of two
Which team member will be doing the swim leg(s)? Alex Henderson
Which team member will be doing the bike leg(s)? Christo van der Spuy
Which team member will be doing the run leg(s)? Emma Pallot
Who have you nominated as team captain and why? Emma Pallot as she co-ordinated the teams and is a passionate triathlete
Which Super League Triathlon athletes do you most admire and why? Georgia Taylor-Brown, because she is a determined and dedicated triathlete, always positive and making massive progress this season
What are you most excited for during the race weekend? Taking part in this premier triathlon event which offers unique experiences
What is your team goal? To enjoy the event

Team Name: Team Calligo

Which team member will be doing the swim leg(s)? Hayden Rouille and Alex Wackett
Which team member will be doing the bike leg(s)? Richard Pitman and Adam Ryan
Which team member will be doing the run leg(s)? Julian Box and Mark Herridge
Who have you nominated as team captain and why? Julian Box

What are you most excited for during the race weekend? Having a lot of fun with everyone in Team Calligo
What is your team goal? Not to finish last!

Team Name: Ravenscroft Centurions

Why have you picked that as your team name? It’s a strong name!
Which team member will be doing the swim leg(s)? Angela Samson and Katrina Bray
Which team member will be doing the bike leg(s)? Tom Nuth and Louise Bracken-Smith
Which team member will be doing the run leg(s)? Alex Knowelden and Patrick McConnell
Who have you nominated as team captain and why? Patrick McConnell because he’ll give the best team talk
Which Super League Triathlon athletes do you most admire and why? It has to be Joshua Lewis and Jack Kennedy as Ravenscroft has sponsored them for a number of years. They impress us with their commitment and passion to succeed and we know they will be amazing brand ambassadors at this year’s event.
What are you most excited for during the race weekend? It’s a fantastic weekend of sporting action. Ravenscroft has sponsored Super League Triathlon for three years and the event gets better each year. We are looking forward to competing on Saturday and then watching the best of the best on Sunday
What is your team goal? Have fun and not come last!

Team Name: Ravenscroft Titans

Why have you picked that as your team name? It complements our other team name
Which team member will be doing the swim leg(s)? Issy Morris
Which team member will be doing the bike leg(s)? Andrea Nightingale
Which team member will be doing the run leg(s)? Jack Kennedy and Issy Morris
Who have you nominated as team captain and why? Andrea Nightingale as she has competed in the Corporate Team Enduro in 2017 and 2018 and so has lots of experience
Which Super League Triathlon athletes do you most admire and why? Josh Lewis and Jack Kennedy who are both Ravenscroft brand ambassadors – Josh was due to be part of the team before he was given a Wildcard and Jack because he will be doing the Enduro after competing in the morning
What are you most excited for during the race weekend? Representing Ravenscroft and being part of their team and cheering Josh on in the main event!
What is your team goal? Hopefully a top three finish

Team Name: Phoenix Team

Why have you picked that as your team name? It is our team name
Which team member will be doing the swim leg(s)? Sebastian Kulczyk
Which team member will be doing the bike leg(s)? Chris McCormack
Which team member will be doing the run leg(s)? Wojtek Kruczynski
Who have you nominated as team captain and why? Chris – experience is the key
Which Super League Triathlon athletes do you most admire and why? Hard to name anyone as all of them are the best athletes and great personalities
What are you most excited for during the race weekend? Racing in team relay and watching all great athletes racing against each other
What is your team goal? To win!

Team Name: Sneaky Puff Adders

Why have you picked that as your team name? Because the team is full of them
Which team member will be doing the swim leg(s)? Nick Saunders and Della Roderick
Which team member will be doing the bike leg(s)? Jo Gorrod and Chris Stephens
Which team member will be doing the run leg(s)? Nick Gorrod and Katie Silva
Who have you nominated as team captain and why? Della Roderick but Jo Gorrod is fighting her for it because she likes to do things her way
Which Super League Triathlon athletes do you most admire and why? Kristian Blummenfelt – he is full gas all the way
What are you most excited for during the race weekend? Having a laugh with my friends and family whilst watching world class entertainment
What is your team goal? Win Win Win

Team Name: Tri Beans

Team Name: Tri Beans

Why have you picked that as your team name? Because we gave the task of picking the team name to Simon and he has zero flare – that’s the best he could do!
Which team member will be doing the swim leg(s)? Richard Tanguy and Richard Worth
Which team member will be doing the bike leg(s)? Fintan Kennedy and Kirstie Clutton
Which team member will be doing the run leg(s)? Brian Kennedy and Simon Roderick
Who have you nominated as team captain and why? Richard Worth – he is a doctor and will take good care of us
Which Super League Triathlon athletes do you most admire and why? Taylor Spivey – she races hard and is always smiling, win, lose or draw
What are you most excited for during the race weekend? Watching a world class event in our little old island
What is your team goal? Win win win and to bring down the Sneaky Puff Adders

Team Name: It’s all about the ‘chip’

Why have you picked that as your team name? It’s a bit of a personal joke as we managed to ‘lose’ our chip between races last year, which really added to the fun/nerves! We also plan on getting the chip round as quick as we possibly can…. so no pressure guys
Which team member will be doing the swim leg(s)? Adam and Rebecca
Which team member will be doing the bike leg(s)? Louise and Paul
Which team member will be doing the run leg(s)? Lee and Phil
Who have you nominated as team captain and why? Adam – mainly because he invited us all as clients/friends of RBC
Which Super League Triathlon Athletes do you most admire and why? Toss up between Tyler Mislawchuk and Olly Turner. Tyler as spent time with him at last year’s event, and Olly for all the obvious reasons! It was really great to see the way they balance the professional element of the sport/training with the media side, and I know everyone at RBC really enjoyed the personal time we got with the athletes over the five days
What are you most excited for during the race weekend? Personally, to make it out of the swim in one piece, but most of all raising a glass with friends and clients and watching the real pro’s over the weekend. Puts their efforts in to perspective when you realize how tiring one leg is
What is your team goal? To compete, to enjoy, to have fun, and maybe a top three finish

Why have you picked that as your team name? Our athletic abilities compared to other mere mortal teams
Which team member will be doing the swim leg(s)? Ann Bott, Allison Livesey
Which team member will be doing the bike leg(s)? Ritchie Dickinson, Linda Power
Which team member will be doing the run leg(s)? Mark Beer, Dan Ellis
Who have you nominated as team captain and why? Dan Ellis, out of sympathy
Which Super League Triathlon Athletes do you most admire and why? Jonny Brownlee and Sophie Coldwell as they are taking the time to come and inspire us at RBC offices
What are you most excited for during the race weekend? Crossing the line first place with all the other far behind in the distance
What is your team goal? Winning, of course!
