Georgia Taylor-Brown has become the latest athlete to be confirmed for the debut of the SLT Arena Games in Rotterdam.

The British star will take to the startline of triathlon’s newest and most innovative format on August 23 and will be a force to be reckoned with.

Taylor-Brown – who will be taking over the Super League Triathlon Instagram feed on Saturday, July 18 – is currently second in the world in the ITU standings and has been on the podium of the end of year rankings in both 2018 and 2019.

The 26-year-old will certainly face some stiff competition. Other athletes already confirmed in the women’s field include Cassandre Beaugrand and home favourite Rachel Klamer, with more big names to be announced in the coming days.

The SLT Arena Games will challenge all the athletes to embrace a new way of racing having seen most triathlon events wiped out in 2020.

Competitors will swim in an Olympic sized swimming pool with the bike and run legs taking part on Tacx smart trainers and self-powered treadmills.

The formats will at least be familiar to Super League regulars such as Taylor-Brown with the Triple Mix being used in Rotterdam. That means the athletes will take part in three rounds of short and sharp racing with the order of the three disciplines shuffled each time.

You can find out more about the racing here, including how you can watch the event with Super League delivering free coverage to fans who have been starved of action this year with what promises to be an immersive viewing experience with in your face cameras on the athletes and live data.
