Super League Triathlon (SLT) have announced the appointment of Jo Sinclair as its new Chief Commercial and Marketing Officer.
Jo has more than 20 years experience in the sports industry leading commercial and marketing teams in football, Formula 1 and netball, and joins SLT at an exciting time as its ambitious expansion plans gather pace following the acquisition of the New York and Chicago triathlons.
Jo spent five years at Manchester United as Global Relationship Manager working with brands such as Audi, Hublot and Smirnoff before seven years at Red Bull Racing as Head of Partnerships, joining six months before they won their first World Championship title in 2010.
Prior to joining Super League, Jo was Commercial Director at England Netball leading a successful rebrand and bringing in partners such as Nike and Red Bull following the country’s Commonwealth Games gold medal success.
Super League Triathlon Chief Commercial and Marketing Officer, Jo Sinclair, said: ”It’s a fascinating time to be part of the Super League Triathlon journey. SLT came into the sport five years ago to shake things up and create an exciting format which other sports have spent millions of pounds adapting. The beauty about SLT still being fairly young is that we know how fans want to consume sport. They want everything to be fast, exciting and entertaining.
“The recent expansion into the US market has enabled us to create an exciting new space for brands, ultimately one platform with multiple touchpoints – Professional Racing, eSports, Media & Content and Mass Participation – a unique value proposition that no-one else is doing in the sport. Our future plans are ambitious and I’m looking forward to working with the talented team at SLT to build on the incredible work everyone has already done and help take SLT to the next level.”
Michael D’hulst, Super League Triathlon CEO and Co-Founder, said: “Over the last three years Super League Triathlon has grown substantially in our reach and engagement and with the acquisition of events in New York and Chicago we are set for further rapid expansion as we offer a complete triathlon brand. This is a crucial stage in our evolution and Jo is ideally positioned with her incredible background in sport to lead our commercial and marketing teams to even greater success.”
In addition to Jo’s appointment, there are newly created senior roles within the SLT team, with Matt Caren becoming Commercial Director, Charlie Cook named as Marketing Director and Adam Leitch as Communications Director.
